Joined by an esteemed panel of guests including: Matthew Cherry author and creator of “Hair Love” and the accompanying Oscar Winning short film, Zenda Walker, author of “Zara’s Wash Day,” and Yvette Modestin of the“Hair Story Project”, NEBiP will discuss how historically, Black hair has always been politicized in the United States.
From the Louisiana Tigon laws of the 1700’s that sought to subjugate and enslave Black women, to the social cues today that keep Black women guessing whether or not their natural hair is “workplace appropriate”, join us as we discuss Black women can finally just let their crowns be free.
