The DEIAJ Associate is a part-time (20h / week) staff member who leads Second Nature’s DEIAJ working group activities, tracks progress towards prioritized DEIAJ initiatives, and provides advice and feedback to members of the Second Nature team on how DEIAJ principles can inform organizational decision-making. This position reports to Second Nature’s President.

Responsibilities include:

Facilitating Second Nature’s DEIAJ Working Group and related committees, including
Setting meeting agendas

Designing strategies and tactics to meet the organization’s DEIAJ goals

Supporting the activities of volunteer staff

Conceptualizing, planning, and coordinating DEIAJ related trainings for staff

Tracking progress towards DEIAJ annual goals

Serving as a resource for Second Nature staff during program and strategic discussions to ensure DEIAJ considerations are applied across the organization’s decision-making and implementation

Developing and cultivating organizational partnerships that can support Second Nature’s DEIAJ priorities and activities
Qualifications

Knowledge and experience in DEIAJ organizational best practices, preferably with small (under 20 employees) non-profit organizations

Experience developing and leading DEIAJ trainings and programming

Demonstrated cultural competence and communication skills to nurture cooperative relationships and foster courageous conversations

Experience developing services and programs that meet the needs of stakeholders with diverse lived and professional backgrounds

Experience leading volunteer groups and facilitating group discussions

Outstanding interpersonal skills and high levels of emotional and social intelligence

Position Classification, Salary and Benefits

This is a part-time (20 hours/week) salaried position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience within a range of $25,000 to $33,000. This position is fully remote.

This position does not offer health insurance, but does offer paid time off and a $100 monthly work-from home stipend.
